No Promises
"So you mean to tell me, Alexander is dead?" Lucan's cold, unwavering eyes searched his sister's for an answer as the room became deathly silent until Vivian answered. "Yes, as dead as dead gets. Got him right through the head, clean shot too." Her blue eyes were as cold as her brothers', it was like a staring match between the two.
Sighing and looking away, "I know how much that old man meant to you but there's not much we can do now except replace him and do what Daddy always did, get revenge." This time, Vivian didn't hesitate to look right at her brother. Not even the sound of the front door shutting broke their match.
"Babe, we're back." Eliana sang as she walked down the foyer into the living room holding Helen. Stopping in her tracks she looked from Lucan to Vivian to Marcus. "Oh, I didn't know you two were stopping by, I was just at the park with Helen." After switching the toddler to her other arm, she walked over to the kitchen and hummed what seemed like a Disney song, probably from one of Helen's favorite movies.
Getting up from the loveseat, Vivian glanced at Eliana and back at Lucan "The Council wants you there at eleven. Oh and remember dear brother, not all thorns can protect its' precious rose." Smirking, she left with their other brother, Marcus, but not before whispering him a warning as it was clear to everyone in the room, but Eliana, of what it was that held his attention.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Goodnight, sweetheart." Eliana tucked Helen in for bed and kissed her on her head after reading Little Red Riding Hood with her. She soon went in search of Lucan; who was somewhere around the house. It was their last night together before he went off to meet with the Council in Bridgeport, which usually lasted for weeks due to them never being able to agree on anything.
As they cuddled on the fur carpet after their passionate love making, Eliana couldn't help but wonder, what if they snuck away; got away from all this crime and the thought of having her heart and soul taken from her before he even gets a chance to see Helen grow up or maybe even have another child with her. "Fat chance." She absently thought aloud.
Eliana looked up into the most beautiful blue eyes she had ever seen as they twinkled while Lucan gazed lovingly at her, "Hm? Fat chance of what, love?". Mentally kicking herself for saying her thoughts aloud, she answered him anyways. "Nothing, just thinking about what it would be like if we ran away. Just, you know, disappeared and we can start all over. But you have a obligation here, I can't take you away from something you love."
Sitting himself up while holding Eliana in his arms still, Lucan looked into her bright, hazel eyes. "One day, things will be different for us. Hang in there for me, okay Ellie?" Nodding her head, Lucan kissed her once again; heating things up immensely. However, time was almost up as it was nearing ten. The hour long drive called for every minute, especially since the Council were a hard bunch who were quick to judge their young leader.
After getting dressed, Lucan left Eliana who was half-asleep, covered in a blanket on the floor. As soon as he got to the porch, he heard his name being called out. Ellie. Turning around just as she ran towards him. He caught her in his arms, he didn't want to leave her again, but he had a job. If only. "I can't make you any promises but I want you to know that whatever happens, I will always love you. You and Helen are my everything and I'd do anything to keep you two safe." He didn't expect her to speak as she held onto him tighter, it was a moment he wished that could last longer. "I love you" was the only thing Eliana said as she let him go; watching him as he walked to his car and drive off.
So, this is my first sims story I have ever written and I intend to continue writing more for this series (and improving) along the way but I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my story, Rise. Have a great day^_^

So far so good! I've read the bios and MAN Vivian sounds like a bad ass! Tough as nails and I can only wonder what that might mean for her own brother! Would she actually kill him just to assume head position? I love all their bios and I can see a powder keg of tension just waiting to explode...if they ever learned about Eliana. Hopefully this meeting with the council can shed some light on what's to come and Lucan is able to keep his family safe. Great work! I can't wait for more :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Daijah! Yeah, V is definitely up to her own agenda and as you can see from the beginning of this chapter that there is a sort of a power struggle between the eldest and the baby of the family. Hopefully, everything turns out alright in the next chapter^_^
DeleteInteresting start. Can't go wrong with a good mob story. :) I agree with DJ I think I'm gonna like Vivian :D.
ReplyDeleteUm Marcus better watch his wondering eye. Me thinks he has a thing for his sister in law and that can be very dangerous. But I also wonder if she has a thing for him. She does appear to be very much in love with her husband, but it could be an act. Guess we have to wait and see.
Lol "his wandering eye". You're totally right though, Marcus should be VERY careful when he is in the company of his siblings, especially when eying Lucan's wifey and should listen to his baby sister when she gives him that warning. I hope you enjoy the next chapter:)
DeleteVery interesting start...eyeing one's in-law could be big trouble if sibling catches on...Hmm Ellie and little Helen seem to be innocents in whatever is going on and I hope her husband is careful going to this meeting.....
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading:) Ooh danger on the horizon!
DeleteGreat start! I'm already hooked.
ReplyDeleteThat's great! I'm glad:) Thanks for reading, yangthecat!
DeleteJust started reading and can't wait for more. Looks like there is a bit of a power struggle going on, always makes for a good story.....edenz~
